The 5th European Resource bank meeting was hosted by New Economic School – Georgia (www.nesgeorgia.org) at “Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel”, Tbilisi, Georgia during 9-12 October 2008.

The leading free market think tanks of Europe gathered in Tbilisi. Experts from 25 countries focused on the Future of Europe with regards to Tax reforms, Pension reforms, the Financial Crisis and shared their experience and planes.
The statement that had been produced about the causes of global financial crisis by the gathered experts and think tanks condemned the interference of government in free market being a short-term fix of the problem. The statement is not closed and any think tank is allowed to join those who have signed it (for farther information visit www.rbeurope.org).
The prime minister of Georgia gave an opening speech to the gathered society on the conference and described major steps of current radical free market development of the country and underlined deep intellectual influence on those reforms by New Economic School – Georgia and by libertarian ideas in general.
The meeting was ended with a trip to east Georgia, where the participants were able to learn more about Georgia. The next Resource bank Meeting will be held in France in August 2009.
